Big Bags for Mineral Fertilizers
Mineral fertilizers are hygroscopic: urea, nitrate and potash salts draw moisture from the air and cake into a solid mass. The packaging's job here is less about carrying weight and more about cutting the cargo off from atmospheric moisture for the whole storage period — which in seasonal logistics runs to several months.
A moisture-proof liner is therefore mandatory in this industry, and the neck is sealed tight. UV-stabilised fabric is used: fertilizers are often stored in open yards at distributors and farms, and without protection polypropylene loses strength within a single season.
Some formulations are aggressive towards the packaging material, so the design is matched to the specific product. Send us the product name and storage conditions and we will propose a design rated for the whole period until field application.

FAQ
Why do fertilizers cake even inside packaging?
Because of hygroscopicity: if the fabric breathes or the neck is not closed tightly, the product absorbs moisture from the air and cakes. A moisture-proof liner combined with a sealed neck closure solves it.
How long can a big bag of fertilizer sit outdoors?
With UV-stabilised fabric — a season or longer; the exact figure depends on the region and solar intensity. Without UV treatment polypropylene loses noticeable strength within a few months.
Can the same packaging be used for different fertilizers?
Not always: formulations differ in aggressiveness towards the material and in hygroscopicity. For mixed supply we select a universal design; for aggressive products, a dedicated one.
